The Association draws its membership from individual actuaries working in the consulting sector. Our members are all qualified actuaries – mainly Fellows of the Faculty or Institute of Actuaries. All actuarial advice given by our members is subject to the profession's code of conduct. The Association has close to 1700 members working in around 75 firms. Members provide advice to thousands of pension schemes, including most of the country's largest schemes. As well actuarial services to and the design of pension schemes, consulting actuaries in many firms are now involved in a wide range of additional areas. These include investment, takeovers and mergers, benefits communication, international benefits, life and general insurance, healthcare, corporate finance and risk, damages, reversions and advice on financial settlements on divorce.
